Scene from a new comedy: A young man arrives home, intoxicated, while a flutist plays before him and his slave supports his weight. Waiting for him is his father, who is furious and would give him a sharp whack of his cane were it not for his friend holding him back. 2. Two figures from either an old or new comedy: Clearly drunk, they
