Germany, Third Reich. A Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge, by “G.H. Osang, Dresden” Province of China Foweather RAF (navigator)(Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Instituted March 31st, 1942. Constructed of silvered and patinated zinc, the obverse consisting of an oval oak wreath, joined together at the base by a ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaying a stylized cloud from which a lightning bolt emanates and strikes the ground, with magnetic vertical pinback and a flat wire catch, marked G. H. Osang, Dresden on the reverse, measuring 42.
